Q: Is all gold marked?

A: No. In fact, in Victorian times most gold was not marked. Gold is soft and when worn, marks can wear off.

Q: Is all flatware sterling silver?

A: No. Most flatware that is silver will be marked sterling. However, some older items are not marked or are marked differently.

Q: Is my gold real (authentic)?

A: There is a lot of fake gold out there. Just because it is marked gold doesn’t mean that it is actually gold. We can always check and let you know.

Q: Is my pocket watch gold?

A: Most pocket watches are gold filled/plated. However, some are gold. We can tell the difference and value it for you.

Q: Where can I buy bullion?

A: We always have a selection of bullion for sale. We are always purchasing bullion.

Q: Who buys costume jewelry?

A: We purchase large quantities of costume jewelry, including vintage, and modern design jewelry.

Q: Where do I sell my estate jewelry?

A: We are always looking to purchase estate jewelry.

Q: What are the benefits of selling to a dealer as opposed to an auction?

A: Auctions charge 25%-35% of the sale price to the seller as well as 10%-15% to the buyer. Sellers often get less than half the sale price.

Q: Will gold or silver stick to a magnet?

A: No, because they are non-ferrous metals. However, brass, cooper, and other metals will not stick to a magnet. Just because it doesn’t stick doesn’t mean it is gold.

Q: Where can I see estate items such as toys, antiques, and other collectibles?

A: We deal in most categories, and we are always buying.
